Fight a good fight of faith!

February 11th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

Be it good times, bad times, happy or sad, emotionally up or down, compliments or offenses, affirmation or discouragement, etc… our walk in lives is always a walk of faith.

So why not fight a good warfare that we will win the race than let our emotions, feelings, mindset causing us to lose half of the battle.

To all who are out there, let’s all fight a good fight of faith that we can win and glorify God. Amen!

February 10th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

I had a busy CNY this year. went for visitation after visitation from day 1 to day 3. Tired but yet enjoy the time I have with my uncles, aunties, cousins, friends.

CNY Eve: Went to my uncle’s house for reunion dinner. For the oast 2 years, we had all went to his house for reunion instead as my mum not able to cook for us anymore. As usual, we had a BIG GREAT FUN ENJOYABLE FEAST. From BBQ to Sukiyaki to traditional steamboat. Hahaha…. its really ALL-U-CAN-EAT lor …

Day 1: Woke up in the morning and have vegetarian meal for breakfast with my relatives. Then came my relatives from Indonesia and Malaysia in the afternoon. My dad’s cousins came too… the house was packed with people the whole day. Steves came in the evening and all my relatives are around to have dinner at my place. I believe that this will be one of the most stressful dinner for him. Hahaha … 2 of my aunts purposely choose the ‘chairman’ seat for him at the dining table and they started to asked him questions to find out more about him and tease him too. After that we went for movie at Bugis. Nice, funny and heart warming movie by Stephen Chow — CJ7!

Day2: Went to Chyi’s house at around 2pm then proceed to Steves house at 4.30pm and have dinner with all his relatives. It was my turn to get to meet all his uncles, aunties and cousins :p After that, we went to steves’ secondary school mate’s house for our 2nd round of dinner at around 8.30pm. Can’t believes I had been eating and eating for the whole day.

Day 3: Have my evening meeting friends and have dinner. A good time of sharing too though certain thigns had changed

Day4: Sun service at Expo. Lunch with cg. Attended Cong’s grandma wake. Went Suntec to collect my free gift - A Samsonite Luggage bag. Nice nice wor… Have dinner and then back home to rest.

Thank God that I do not have to work on Mon as company will be close for CNY,
Hmmm… hope I can have the time to watch my Stardust dvd … :p

The choice that we make will ultimately affect the route to our destiny. Not many have the courage to make the right choice in order to walk the right path. Instead many choose to avoid by taking the easier route thinking that they have a less responsibilities and can enjoy the life that they want. Is is the case? Only ourself will know the answer. Is your choice the best choice?

We bear the consequence base on the choice we had made.

A Day to National Museum

January 16th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

It was Steves’ birthday on Sat. I brought him to the museum. He always has this liking to visit museum but it will never interest me to step into one. To me, museum is a boring place especially for someone who is not ‘art-y’ at all.

Well for the sake of the birthday boy and to make him happy, we visited the national museum while he actually wanted to visit the Art Museum instead…hahaha … But I told him start with National musuem 1st. Too much of art masterpieces for me, I may not be able to digest and appreciate :p

We went for the Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre. It is a rare opportunity to view classical Greek masterpieces from marble sculptures, vases, terracotta figurines and gold jewellery from the 5th to 1st centuries BC. After that we have coffee at the cafe and then proceed for the Singapore History Gallery. This is very interesting as we get to see the film making, filming equipment, fashion, music, marriages, food street, photo in olden Singapore days. From these, we get to understand about the culture and traditions of different ethics group. I enjoy the tour very much.

After the spending the whole day in the museum, it is not as boring as what I think. I enjoy the tour and learn a lot too. Even the iconic architecture and design of the museum is very elegant and beautiful too. I start to love this place

Our next visit will be The Art Museum!!

Jesus, I love You *Hugs*Hugs*

The greatest gift I had received is God.
The greatest gift He had blessed me is Salvation.

If not for You, I am still lost, not knowing what is my purpose in life.
If not for You, I will not be who I am today.

Jesus, I love you!
I want to live my everyday life remembering You and drawing near to You.
You are the Best, You are my Hero!

The Power of Focus

January 7th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

Pst Kong will be sharing a 4-part series with the church for these 4 weeks.
He will preach on FOCUS, FORGIVENESS, FAITH and FORTITUDE.

Pst started with the 1st part on The Power of Focus

LK11:34 “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.”

When our vision is Focus, we’ll be a stable person.
- Focused light has tremendous power.
- Focus brings energy

SUCCESS is about Focus

As we set our goals, we set them with a purpose that will bring us to the next level.
For 2008, we are to plan and to set SMARTER goals.

Specific
Measurable
Action plan
Realistic
Time
Expectation management
Revelation

The opposite of Focus is Distraction.
We must not get distracted by:
1) Interim success
2) Competition
3) Pain of life

I believe that there are some goals in 2007 which we did fulfill due to distraction. We just lost our vision and focus.

Let’s revived the dreams and visions we had lost in the midst of our distraction in 2007 and bring it to live with a SMARTER planning on our goals so that all things will come to pass in 2008.

2008 will be the best year yet to be!

I am looking forward to what Pst is going to share in the next 3 weeks. I believe that the Word will bring us to the next level as we catch it with understanding and put it into action.

Beautiful Saviour

January 7th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

We sang a new worship song during service this week. I love this worship. It is very nice and touching. Tears start to flow as I worship. Indeed, He is the Beautiful Saviour .. always so wonderful whose name is above every name!

Jesus, Beautiful Saviour,God of all Majesty,
Risen king,Lamb of God,
Holy and righteous,Blessed redeemer,
Bright morning star

All the heavens shout your praise,
All creation bow to worship You

How wonderful, how beautiful,
Name above every name, exalted high
How wonderful, how beautiful,
Jesus your name, name above every name, Jesus

I will sing forever, Jesus I love you, Jesus I love you

Built to last

January 5th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

This is a nice song by Melee.

A relationship that is built to last.

</object

I’ve looked for love in stranger places,
but never found someone like you.
Someone whose smile makes me feel I’ve been holding back,
and now there’s nothing I can’t do.

‘Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it’s built to last.

All of our friends saw from the start.
So why didn’t we believe it too?
Whoa yeah, now look where you are.
You’re in my heart now.
And there’s no escaping it for you.

‘Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it’s built to last.

Walking on the hills that night with those fireworks and candlelight
You and I were made to get love right

‘Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it’s built to last.

‘Cause you are the sun in my universe,
considered the best when we’ve felt the worst
and most of all it’s built to last.

The Happiest Moment

January 5th, 2008 by rebecca-fide

A good friend of mine from church is getting married in May08. I am happy and excited for her :)
I believe that the happiest moment for a girl is to marry the man she love and to walk the rest of her life with him.

Not full enough

January 2nd, 2008 by rebecca-fide

I had dinner with Steves’ family last nite. We are late cos’ before coming out of my house, we celebrated birthday for my mum. We sang her a birthday song and asked her to made a wish before cutting the cake. I prayed for her too. I can see that she is surprised and happy when Steves took the cake out from the dinning room and placed it on the table for her. After the short celebration, I left for Steves’ house for dinner.

Aiyo, his family are really small eater lor. His mum, his brother, sis-in-law and even Steves himself have their rice half filled only. When his sis-in-law asked me if the rice is enough for me, I just told her "yes" but in my heart I was thinking "Aiyo, so little. sure will get hungry again." Hahaha ..   First time eating with the family, must not ’scared’ his family with the amount of food I can eat :p I am a "rice bucket"… Having a bowl of rice full or at times when there is nice dishes, I can even have 2 full bowl… :p

Truly by 10plus, I was so hungry that Steves bought a packet of potato chips to maunch in the car while driving me home. I finished the whole packet myself…kekeke
