A busy December
Tuesday, December 25th, 2007I have a busy December this year but yet a very meaningful and purposeful one.
I was busy with reaching out, caroling, shopping for Christmas gifts, gatherings with friends and family etc.
This year, our zone was given 1.5 weeks to plan for a team outreach in the beginning of December. Very quickly, we came out with the idea of caroling out reach. First one was at my previous company as they are having a charity xmas bazar. Hence, we manage to get the opportunity to get to carol there to help them to raise funds and to give out our church xmas musical invites. We form a CGL carol team with the mission to carol and create an awareness of our church xmas musical production so that we can invite them for a time of fun and understand the true meaning of Xmas.
The second one we went to is a hostel w all the China students. They are very responsive to us and are having a great time with the games and sing along with us too during the caroling session. It was a fruitful carol outreach as all the 165 students came for our Xmas production on 24th. Thank you Jesus for the harvest.
Out reach is never a chore or something that is boring. I really enjoy myself during both session of caroling out reach and our team of leaders are knitted more closely due to this event. We can be physically tired with all the daily work, taking leave to plan for logistics, meet after work to learn all the Xmas songs, rush for caroling after work but our hearts are filled with joy and excitement. We even pool some of our members to join us too!
What I have learnt: With the little time given to us to work as a team target, we still manage to do so because LEADERS DO NOT WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN, THEY MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!!!
With the team out reach as a zone, my cg also have a BBQ out reach where invites our friends, family members and colleagues for a time of fellowship. a few of the friends came for our Xmas production and they enjoy the musical and candlelight service a lot. The dram team has really out on a good act this year. It is indeed very funny and enjoyable.
With all the different out reaches, I also spent time doing xmas shopping for my loved one, friends, cg. It is not easy to shop and buy things that will suits all of them and within my budget. Haa…really have to have a good budget plan sia..
Cant believe it, I shop til I had muscle cramp!!!
Well, after this busy Xmas season, I have to come back to real life…ie YEAR END CLOSING!!!
So after Xmas, I will have really out in effort and “pia” for all the closing deadlines
